The Aztec warriors where known as fearless and had no mercy,
the fact that most of them dressed as fierce animals added further onto that
fact. The life of an Aztec warrior was
good, but cut short, most warriors only live until the age of 37. They were expected to leave there life behind
at any word of war and then join into a small battle group or a large
army. They would then carry all they brought
over long distance to the battle place. From a young age, Aztec boys where trained for war, and most
of them aspired to be a warrior. The training
the boys went through would determine what there war rank you were put into, it
was possible to get higher in your rank by accomplishing certain duties. The most common way to up your rank was to
capture one of the enemies men or surrounding civilization's people (prisoner became the human sacrifices).
In the Aztec war you could be a normal foot soldier or one of the two most well-known war societies. These were the Jaguars and the Eagles, these were the warriors that were highly skilled at killing, they would usually wear a battle uniform that represented there animal. The higher class of warriors would have brighter coloured fathers on their head pieces, the higher your rank, the more war decorated you got, for example if you had a lip plug, the stone you put in would change as your rank got higher.

Aztecs
are also well known for their deadly weapons and their skill at using
them. The most common weapon the Aztecs
would use is the Maquahuitl, like a sword, it was a long or short blade meant
for close combat. The metal blade was
usually imbedded with stone on the edges and was said to be able to cut off a
horse’s head in one swing. The other
commonly used weapon for the Aztecs was a club, usually made out of wood with a
ball at the end (sometimes embedded with stones) for hitting the enemy. For far distance combat, the Aztecs used an
array of weapons. Most common was long
spears that could pierce through metal armour; they also used bows and sling
shots for rocks that were known to go further than the arrows.
